Heather is a British visual artist, born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, currently living and working in the USA. She obtained her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee, Scotland.

The work in this exhibition is created using simple technology and natural phenomena such as light and gravity.  Using a variety of media, Heather explores the idea of drawing as an expanded concept. Her work created using gravity is currently on show at the Hunter College/Times Square Gallery in New York.

The exhibit will be on display April 2-28.

Artist's Statement

Considering painting and drawing as expanded concepts, and interchangeable with installation, I use non-commercial rationales to direct existing technology, products and situations. This lets me explore the role of mechanical process within creative practice and engage aspects of the ordinary world within a fine art environment.
