For all ARS patrons: Whether you have a reservation or would like to drop in, the ARS door is locked at all times. To have someone unlock the ARS, do one of the following:
Just let the staff member know you would like to use the ARS or that you have a reservation, and they will unlock the door for you.
Note: If for some reason you cannot reach anyone by the above methods, visit the circulation desk on the main floor of the library and ask someone to unlock the door for you.
Want to reserve the Self Service Audio Recording Studio (ARS)?
Note: This online reservation system only allows 1 hour blocks of time per reservation for the ARS. If you would like to reserve the studio for more than an hour, you will need to make multiple reservations!
The ARS is a sound isolation booth, measuring 12.5 feet X 15 feet and is equipped with:
Recorded files can be saved in a variety of formats and transferred via share drive, SD card, or flash drive.
Detailed self service operating instructions are provided in the Studio and technical assistance is available if necessary.
These examples are class assignments or personal projects in which students utilized the equipment available in the ARS to create audio recordings.
