Due to COVID-19, there have been changes to lab procedures. Please click here for details.
The Media Design Lab is an interactive learning space where students, faculty and staff from all academic departments create podcasts, videos, infographics, websites, printed designs and more. No experience is needed since lab assistants are available to help you through the process.
In addition to a wide range of software, the lab includes a scanner, headphones, drawing tablets and memory card readers. Click here for details.
The TV Studio next door includes cameras, various sets, and a wall-to-floor green screen. You can also record in the Audio Recording Studio. In both spaces, previous experience is not required since technicians operate the equipment for you, and use is limited to course assignments only.
You can also check out cameras, tripods, and microphones at the library circulation desk. If you need help using equipment or with editing your video, Media Design Lab staff can provide instruction.
Professors are invited to schedule an introduction session for their classes. To set up a time, contact the lab manager, Sasha Hussey, at sthussey@unca.edu.
We look forward to meeting you!
