Writing

The University Writing Center

Housed on Ramsey Library's main level, the University Writing Center warmly welcomes all UNC Asheville students and associates to the hub of campus inter-curricular writing. In addition to providing one-on-one consultations and in-class workshops, the University Writing Center also provides internship opportunities to interested and qualified students, maintains a library of print writing resources, and collects links to useful online resources.

Citing

Why is Citation Important?

Crafting a well-written academic paper, irregardless of the discipline, involves much more than crafting a solid argument or molding the perfect sentence out of the ether. Your work elaborates and adds to the scholarly conversation utilizing scholars that came before you. Proper citation not only gives credit where credit is due and thusly avoids plagiarism, but it also gives readers insight into your thought processes and entrenches your work within scholarly conversation. Just like with the writing process, Ramsey Library's arsenal of resources can make the citation process much easier.
