Ramsey Library's borrowing policies and procedures for alumni are outlined below.
UNCA graduates can obtain an Alumni Card to check out materials from Ramsey Library. To obtain an Alumni Card, graduates should first visit the Alumni Office, located on the second floor of 118 W.T. Weaver, building 1 on the campus map. Let them know you are interested in obtaining a Library Alumni Card, then bring the proof of graduation they provide you with to the Circulation Services Desk in Ramsey Library. If an Alumni Card is lost, it can be replaced at the Circulation Services desk for a $5.00 replacement charge. Ramsey Library accepts cash, check, and credit/debit cards, excluding American Express.
To check out materials, please bring your Alumni Card to the Circulation Services Desk on the main floor of Ramsey Library.
Please note that alumni may only check out up to 10 total items at one time.

Borrowing notices for Alumni Borrowers are sent via email. It is the responsibility of the patron to ensure that we have the correct email address in our system. Not receiving an email is not an acceptable reason for Ramsey Library to waive a fine. Items which are not returned 75 days after they are due will be billed, listed as lost, and the replacement cost will be charged to the borrower. If desired, a patron can replace a lost or damaged item with an exact copy of the borrowed item, pending the appropriate subject bibliographer's approval. To replace a lost item with a purchased copy:
If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Circulation Services Desk or the phone number listed above.
Printing, Copying and Scanning
Alumni who are wishing to print and make copies in Ramsey Library may do so by purchasing a Visitor Copy Card from Ramsey Library's Circulation Services Desk. Alumni may add additional funds to their Visitor Copy Card in the Onecard Office, located in Highsmith Union. Printing and copying costs are $.05 a page for black and white, $.10 a page for color. Ramsey Library accepts cash, check and credit/debit cards as payment. Our scanning services scan to an email address and are free.
Alumni should note that after graduation they will be unable to access the full range of Ramsey Library's databases remotely. Full database access is still available in-house. Some databases may still be accessible through NC Live. Please contact Research Services with any questions regarding alumni database access.
