Rooted in Culture
Produced by WGBH Educational Foundation with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages in 2004, this video workshop aims to help teachers incorporate an understanding of culture into the foreign language classroom. "Rooted in Culture" is one of several similar videos for improving foreign language teaching techniques. Available as a streaming video from the library catalog.
UCLA Language Materials Project
Provides information about the teaching resources available for less commonly taught languages (like Cherokee or Mongolian, for example).
WatchKnow is a website designed and maintained by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi, a non-profit organization. It provides free access to educational videos for ages 1-18. The videos have been suggested, reviewed, and categorized by educators. Check out their listings of videos for Spanish, French, German, and more.
