The Media Design Lab is an interactive learning space where students, faculty and staff from all academic departments come to create images, videos, printed designs, presentations, sound, websites and more. No experience is needed since lab assistants are available to help you through the process.
In addition to a wide range of multimedia software, the lab includes a scanner, headphones, drawing tablets and memory card readers. Equipment is also available for format transfers, duplications, and closed captioning video content.
The TV Studio next door includes cameras, various sets, and a wall-to-floor green screen. You can also record in the Audio Lab. In both spaces, previous experience is not required since technicians operate the equipment for you, and use is limited to course assignments only. On the other hand, the self service Audio Recording Studio is available for personal projects as well.
You can also check out cameras, tripods, and microphones at the library circulation desk. If you need help using equipment or with editing your video, drop by the Media Design Lab and we can show you how.
Professors are invited to bring their classes for a brief orientation to these resources. To schedule a time, contact the lab manager, Sasha Hussey, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828.250.3951.
We look forward to meeting you!
