About Us: Liaison Librarians

Introducing Liaison Librarians: What Are We?

Each academic unit on UNC Asheville's campus has a designated liaison librarian who serves as the primary point of contact for library-related questions or services, including collection development and suggestions for purchase; please contact your designated liaison librarian to suggest or request that items be added to the collection.

What About Library Introductions, Information Literacy Instruction, and Research Consultations?

Faculty are encouraged to request library introductory sessions, course-related information literacy instruction, and specialized research skills instruction for their courses. This instruction, delivered by one of our librarians, is tailored to each class, provides hands-on practice, and introduces the library in a dynamic, engaging manner.

  • Scheduling for library-oriented sessions are handled by using our Workshop and Tour Request Form.
  • Scheduling for Special Collections-oriented sessions are handled by contacting Ashley McGhee Whittle, Assistant Archivist, at speccoll@unca.edu.
  • Scheduling for research consultations are handled by using our Research Consultation Request Form.
