Events & Exhibits: Threadbangers

THE EPHEMERA OF VIRALITY: an Archive of Threadbanger's YouTube Fandom in Craft

Since starting the Threadbanger YouTube channel 2 decades ago (New York Times) Rob Czar and Corinne Leigh have attracted a dedicated fan base of about 6 million subscribers, have won Webby and Shorty internet awards, and have helped YouTube develop and launch well-known features.

Threadbanger is known for series like Man vs. Pin, Corinne vs. Pin, Man vs. House, the YouTube Red series Do or DIY and for Rob & Corinne's personal spinoff channels.

Rob and Corinne have lived in Asheville for 8 years and recently opened the Czart Gallery in West Asheville.

This exhibit features the pieces of material culture associated with YouTube stardom (from the iconic YouTube Play Buttons to YouTube-created bowling pins and books with Threadbanger themes) as well as some of the fan art and letters that have been sent to them over the years.
